Job Summary:
The Project Manager (PM)-Books will be responsible for overseeing the entire editorial and production process of the books assigned to him/her, from the stage of receiving manuscripts from authors to the stage of the title’s publication.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • He/she must ensure quality and adherence to schedule in manuscript gathering, pre-editing, copyediting, e-flow creation, typesetting, author’s review, revision(s), and sending to print.
  • He/she must coordinate the work of any artwork processing requirements with artists, the Production Editor, and the typesetter.
  • He/she must maintain good relationships and proactively communicate for schedules and review inputs with book Editors and contributing authors, keeping the best interests of the publishing house in mind.
  • He/she must ensure that all inputs provided by authors/ Editors in their reviews are incorporated into the book correctly.
  • He/she will be responsible for coordinating the work on getting the book cover and the back cover content ready.
  • 6. He/she will be responsible for tracking all the work on the book, providing reports pertaining to it to all relevant parties, and maintaining all production records

Required Background & skills:

  • Must be a postgraduate in any discipline from a reputed university, with at least 2-3 years of experience in editorial and production work of book publishing.
  • Must have excellent English language proficiency and understanding of medical book publishing to be able to conduct reviews and quality checks of editorial and production work.
  • Must have good communication skills to be able to manage relationships and share information with stakeholders.
  • Must have good technical knowledge to judge how long the processing step would take, discern any potential problem, suggest solutions, and plan the work accordingly.
