We are seeking a Marketing Director for our Science and International Business. In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and harmonizing with the Thieme Group headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. The responsibility covers marketing for our Science offerings worldwide and for Thieme’s full range of products and services in the Americas, mainly USA.Â
Thieme  is a leading supplier of information and services contributing to the improvement of healthcare and health. Employing more than 1,000 staff, the family-owned company develops products and services in digital and other media for the medical and chemistry sectors. (Digital) marketing strategy: You will develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s overall business goals. This includes identifying target markets, formulating the marketing mix and setting targets for awareness, engagement and lead conversion. Channels include email-marketing, performance marketing, social, SEO as well as congresses and other events. You and your team will closely liaise with Product and Sales management to ensure a coordinated marketing and sales approach. This will include a strong B2B focus and account-based marketing as well as marketing to end-users like researchers, doctors, students, etc.. -
CRM, automation and customer experience: Drive personalized, data-led customer engagement through lead nurturing and account-based-marketing initiatives along the customer journey. Partner with Heads of Product, Sales Director and UX professionals to deliver seamless, category-leading customer experiences at every touchpoint. -
Team leadership and management: Lead, mentor, develop and inspire an international team of currently 5 FTE. You will also lead campaign teams in a global matrix setting by utilizing the specialist functions in our headquarters in Germany. -
Performance Analysis and Optimization: You will closely measure and improve the performance of the marketing activities and the conversion and velocity of the marketing and sales funnel by setting up and monitoring key revenue and funnel KPIs (like submissions, click rates, etc.) -
Budget planning, forecasting and resource allocation: You plan and control the marketing budget and allocate the resources efficiently to maximize the impact of the marketing activities.

At least 5 years of experience in digital marketing leadership roles, ideally within publishing or tech sectors. -
Proven expertise in demand generation, CRM and marketing automation, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results -
Skilled at using data and analytics to drive decision-making and optimize marketing performance -
Experience with account-based marketing strategies in B2B marketing -
Collaborative leader with experience working closely with Sales, Product and CX/UX teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences -
Being a self-starter with a growth mindset as this is a new role in an expanding business -
Willingness to travel at least quarterly to the US and monthly to Germany -
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and executives -
Robust Office application skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and technical aptitude -
International and cultural sensitivity with experience in an international environment -
Business fluency in English (native speaker). Very good German skills are a bonus -
Knowledge of the science, publishing or medical industries is ideal, but not required
