Your onboarding
Whether you’re just starting out, already an experienced professional, or taking on a leadership role, we’ll create a tailored onboarding experience so you can hit the ground running from day one. You’ll get to know Thieme’s business units, product landscape and initiatives and receive all the information you need for your specific role. We’ll help you find your footing quickly and establish important connections from the start.
Flexible learning
After joining Thieme, you’ll be able to choose from a wide range of professional development opportunities. Live learning sessions on topics such as artificial intelligence, communication, resilience, presentation skills, software tools, or project management are open to all employees. In addition, our teams receive role-specific training carefully tailored to address their challenges and needs.
For flexible, self-directed learning, you’ll have access to platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, Haufe sparks, O’Reilly and Digital Avantgarde. These platforms offer a wide variety of microlearning formats, courses and expert articles to help you build future-ready skills and deepen your professional expertise.

Learning from the best
People at Thieme are not only learners, but also teachers. Many are trained as internal facilitators and share their knowledge through live sessions or digital learning formats.
By exchanging ideas, skills and expertise, as well as applying them in the Thieme context, we broaden our collective knowledge base and strengthen collaboration across departments. The result is a network that not only shares knowledge, but also connects people.
Leadership
We support new leaders with a structured development program. It includes our Leadership Basics program and the Leadership Journey, with focus areas such as psychological safety, leadership communication, diversity and inclusion, empowerment and customer focus. The program is complemented by a mentoring initiative in which experienced leaders support new colleagues.

“Good products are created when different perspectives come together in a meaningful way.”
I was already familiar with Thieme from my biology studies – their books accompanied me through many semesters. After graduating, I deliberately sought a job outside of traditional research, one that involved working closely with people, offered creative freedom and had a clear connection to medicine. As a trainee at Thieme, I was able to apply my professional training and familiarise myself with new topics at the same time. I find it very enriching that I was able to develop from working on traditional print formats to digital product development during my time at Thieme. I am motivated by complex issues and an environment in which trust, exchange and further development are lived out – that is exactly what I experience at Thieme.
